  • Overview

    • Computer Science college programs have the highest dropout rates averaging 9.8% to 19%. Universities will oversell their college resulting in overcrowded lecture halls, contempt for intelligent questions, and professors pressing students to leave the program. Even the brightest high school students will hit walls as they suddenly find themselves the tiny fish in a global pond. To be successful in a college discipline relating to Computer Sciences, students need to enter their program already understanding programming fundamentals. Written with this in mind, this course seeks to introduce students to the same materials covered by all major universities in the first quarter of every Computer Science and Software Engineering program.

    • Be it a primer, or you plan on skipping college altogether, this course will introduce you to a career in programming including concepts such as; writing Python programs, Object Oriented Programming (OOP), data structures, creating and writing to files, pulling data from the web, the Software Control Management Software (SCM) Git and GitHub, how to monetize your new skillset, and best practices.

    • Students successfully completing the program will receive a certificate of completion, access to letters of recommendation, and understand how to properly advertise their code using industry standard practices. These skills are critical when applying to schools or for any professional career within computer sciences.
